{Motivation Monday} Honoring Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
Today is the day the nation stops to observe the life and achievement of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., a nonviolent leader of the fight for justice. Many people will commemorate the civil rights leaders at parades, marches, lectures and volunteer activities.

Link Love: Apothecary Jars via Apartment Therapy
It’s a new year, and that means new craft projects. The Girl on a Budget found a new dollar store craft project for you to tackle this week. Add pizazz to your home décor with the link below. I found this project on ApartmentTherapy.com, a great site that “helps people make their homes more beautiful, organized and healthy by connecting them to a wealth of resources, ideas and community online,” as posted on their website. I learned about Apartment Therapy over four years ago, while living in New York City. I was excited to see them include budget-friendly information. To avoid confusion below, I link directly to the project detail page of the original blog post. Enjoy!
Create an Apothecary Jar for $2 – Although, I found the project via Apartment Therapy, the details are located in a guest blog post by Dollar Store Crafts on the Someday Crafts blog. This is such a cute idea. It’s super easy to do and costs less than a Venti Caffé Mocha at Starbucks. Score!

Using scrap paper, tape and glassware, Madigan made a Christmas tree topiary centerpiece. She added the topiaries to a white tray and accented it with fresh cranberries. Red, white, and black is one of my favorite color combinations. I love it! Click here for instructions.

{Monday Motivation} – Respect for Authority
In a world that’s full of voices, this Girl on a Budget found the above quote to be very fitting. Knowledge and voice are two parts of the equation for authority; however, I also believe that action and trust play a part as well.
