Over the past few years, the popularity of dollar stores has grown in many geographic areas. Dollar stores are becoming a common retailer in most cities. You can not only find the bare necessities, but also locate hot trends as well. It is refreshing to know that I am not the only person shopping at local dollar stores.

During a recent visit to my local dollar store, I was welcomed with a plethora of consumers searching the aisles for deals and bargains. I observed:
A grandmother, with her two grandchildren in tow, enjoyed shopping for an upcoming birthday celebration.
A family of four searched the store for various affordable items, including snacks, coloring books, and school supplies.
A mother bought name brand laundry detergent and colorful storage bins, and her son chose items as a reward for his good behavior.
A school teacher purchased items for her classroom and students.
Dollar stores have quickly become a convenient and cost-effective way to purchase many household products. During the current economic climate, bargain shopping is “in vogue” and widely practiced by a wide variety of consumers.
